30 hours funding

30 hours of funding

While all three- and four-year old children in England can receive 15 hours of funding for 38 weeks a year for preschool sessions or childcare, some can receive 30 hours of funding. This is intended to help parents in employment.

If you’re a parent earning over £110 or £120 per week (depending on your age), or approximately £6000 per year, you can claim this funding.

If your child normally lives with you, but you no longer live with their other parent, you can still claim.

If you and your child now live with someone new then the rules apply to you and your new partner.

How do I apply for 30 hours of childcare funding?
You can apply for the 30-hour scheme online through the Government Gateway. You will need;
  • your National Insurance (NI) number (or your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number, if you're self-employed)
  • the date you started work or are due to start work
  • details of any support or benefits you receive.

If you're eligible, you'll receive a code that you can then bring along to us with your NI or UTR number and your child’s date of birth. Once we have confirmed your code, and as long as we have space available, we can book your child’s place.
