At Lavendon Pre-School we have bright and spacious playroom, we organise our sessions so that your children can choose from a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion.
Your children are introduced to new experiences and are helped to gain new skills, as well as learning to work with other children. This means that children cope better when they go to school.
Your children also have direct access to a new safe and secure outdoor play area covering all the areas of learning, including a mud kitchen, play house, garden area and space to run around which means that your children are being cared for in a safe and secure but fun learning environment. It also has access to Lavendon Park.
With parental permission, they are also regularly taken on trips outside of the setting both within Lavendon and beyond.
Snacks and Lunch.
During our sessions we provide a healthy mid-morning and afternoon snack for your child together with a choice of milk or water. If your child is attending the full day sessions, we ask that you provide a healthy packed lunch in a suitable container clearly labelled with his/her name. If your child has grapes included in their lunch, please ensure they are cut in half (from top to bottom) to prevent any choking incidents. We also ask that children are provided with nut free lunches, this includes chocolate spread which contains hazelnuts e.g. Nutella.
We operate online learning journeys for the children, you will receive an email with login details to access your child’s learning journey on Tapestry, if you are having difficulties setting your account up then please see a member of staff who will be happy to assist you. We also welcome comments from parents on observations and photographs posted on Tapestry.
Open Door Policy
We operate an open door policy; even if it not your child’s regular session you are welcome to come in to discuss your child or participate in a session anytime.
All parents are welcome and encouraged to join the committee, without which the Pre-School cannot run. Please contact us for further information if you are interested in becoming a committee member. We would also appreciate fundraising ideas and help with organising events.
